Rick Mansfield posted a few interesting 'back-stories' on Christmas Traditions. I love these sort of things for some reason.
Here's an example.
7. Holly, with its prickly leaves and wild berries, was adopted by Christians to stand for the crown of thorns and drops of blood worn by Jesus at His crucifixion.
Now who knows if they are all true, but it’s none the less fascinating. On a side note I leave for Virginia on Thursday --- to hopefully enjoy some Christmas Traditions of my own!
